She is a 2026 Artist-in-Residence at the Al Purdy A-Frame. She was a finalist for the 2025 PEN Canada New Voices Award, and a Kevin Killian Scholarship recipient for the Jack Kerouac School. Her work has been published in CV2, Room, New Orleans Review, and elsewhere. She lives on other people's couches, sometimes in Montreal.</image:title>

      <image:title>Events - Spoken Word Showcase at the SK Festival of Words - Born and raised in Saskatoon, Isaac Bond has been involved with Saskatchewan literature and live music for decades. From reocurring shows like Tonight it's Poetry to projects such as Crabstyle and BoomBoxers, his presence on stage is a force. In 2013, he founded the Write Out Loud Poetry collective, which continues to deliver youth focused programming to this day. Known for his spontaneous rhythm and relatable insight, he works with people of all ages to lift spirit and build community.</image:title>

      <image:title>Events - Spoken Word Showcase at the SK Festival of Words - Eric Gabriel, also known as Gabriel “ArchAngel” Ehijie, is a Pan-human writer and poet whose work is often described as celestial. An interdisciplinary artist who has performed and presented on international platforms including WS80 (curated by Wole Soyinka), the Lagos Theatre Festival, BBC Media Action, SaskArts, amongst others; the author of 'Dunes From The Sahara’ is also an alumnus of the UoR. A passionate student of the human experience, Eric is a believer in the psycho-social healing properties of art, and is constantly seeking new ways to aid in that healing process.</image:title>

      <image:title>Events - Spoken Word Showcase at the SK Festival of Words - fanny kearse is a Black, Queer, Jewish, Disabled human whose multidisciplinary practice spans performance, writing, and curation. A recovering people pleaser, late bloomer, dreamer, and community tender, their art traces pathways of self-reclamation; where grief becomes a guide, pain opens portals to the divine, and room is made for the joy of unbecoming. They won the Harold Green Theatre Monologue Competition in 2021, published their first book of poetry &amp; prose, umi's prayer in 2023 and co-produced the Telus Storyhive docuseries, Glimmers in 2025. fanny is an artist-in-residence at Maquinna elementary school, a board member with Curtain Razors Art Collective, All Bodies Dance Project, and Black &amp; Rural Arts and is an organizer of transcendental community gatherings. she is living out the wildest of her dreams with her co-creator at life &amp; art, Que, on the unceded, unsurrendered territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ Nations.</image:title>

      <image:title>Events - Spoken Word Showcase at the SK Festival of Words - Cat Abenstein (she/her) is a neuroqueer white settler from oskana kâ-asastêki in Treaty 4. (Regina, SK) Cat’s a spoken word artist, writer, and arts administrator where she is witness to the community, reclamation, and power found through stories. Since 2012, she’s taken her work to local, provincial, and national stages and has organized, hosted, and facilitated dozens of spoken word events for multiple organizations. Cat is a multiple-time poetry slam winner and has published poetry, creative nonfiction, and horror fiction. Her poetry has been shortlisted for the 2025 Foster Poetry Prize and published by Contemporary Verse 2. Cat is a lyricist and rapper for the experimental hip hop group, None Shall Sleep Tonight and a member of several writing groups. When she’s not consuming books, she’s dreaming about the ways words weave us all together. She lives with her wife and two cats in a house older than all of their ages combined.</image:title>
